NorthernArctic

About UV Vodka

Northern Arctic is produced by United States Distilled Products from Princeton, MN. It’s multi-column distilled from grain and charcoal filtered.

In 2006 Northern Arctic was awarded an 89 rating (Highly Recommended) by the Beverage Tasting Institute and was named as one of their Best Buys.

Editor’s Review

Overall, Northern Arctic makes for a pleasant vodka drinking experience. We’d like this vodka better at around $11 for a 750ml bottle because the $15 price tag puts it a little higher than better mid-tier vodkas like Svedka and Sobieski.

We don’t like to pretend that we can detect subtle flavors in vodka but this one does have a very slight sweet flavor to it. There is some burn but it’s not excessive and the finish was about average.

Of the mid-tier vodkas that we tried I can easily say that Northern Arctic has done the worst job of building a brand. This vodka has no soul. It has a very forgettable generic sounding name and its priced in such a way that really leaves no reason to ever purchase the product. But… we’re rating the taste of product here, not the marketing. I just felt like the marketing effort was so bad with this one that it was worth noting.
