Our Review
Tito’s Handmade Vodka
Tito’s handmade vodka is made from 100% corn. It’s distilled 6 times in a pot still and filtered through activated carbon. Tito’s is produced in Austin, Texas at Texas’ first and oldest legal distillery. Tito’s won a double gold medal at the 2001 San Francisco World Spirit Competition. It was also rated 4 stars by Spirit Journal (the only vodka with a 4 star rating). It was also found to be “the cleanest and purest spirit ever tested,” by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Tito’s is about as smooth as vodka gets. It scored a perfect 10 for burn (or complete lack of one) and 9.8 for it’s very smooth, pleasant finish. Tito’s didn’t receive the same stellar scores for taste. Although Tito’s is very clean tasting but it does taste like alcohol. One reviewer rated the taste a 7 and noted that it tastes a bit medicinal. Other reviewers weren’t as harsh but it didn’t receive any perfect scores in the taste category. The alcohol taste may make Tito’s a little better suited for a cosmo than a straight chilled martini but overall this is an outstanding vodka.
